Verification Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Why Verification Matters
When someone is in crisis, they need to trust that the "Doctor," "NGO," or "Hospital" responding to them is genuinely who they claim to be. Verification is the mechanism that makes that trust possible.
Who Needs Verification
Victims do not require verification and can request help immediately. The following responder roles require verification before dashboard access is granted:
- Medical Professionals (Doctors)
- Hospitals
- NGOs
- Pharmacies
- Volunteers
- Government / District Administration representatives
The Verification Process
1. After signing in with Google, a prospective responder selects their role and completes responder onboarding. 2. The applicant submits identifying credentials relevant to their role (see below). 3. Submitted credentials are reviewed by a District Admin or Platform Admin. 4. Only upon approval does the account gain access to the corresponding responder dashboard and the ability to view or act on relevant requests. 5. Applications that cannot be verified, or that contain false information, are rejected. Knowingly submitting false credentials may result in a permanent ban and referral to appropriate authorities.
Documents Typically Required
- Doctors / Medical Professionals: Valid medical registration
number/license issued by a recognized medical council.
- Hospitals: Hospital registration certificate and administrative
contact verification.
- NGOs: Registration certificate (e.g. under the Societies
Registration Act or equivalent) and organizational contact verification.
- Pharmacies: Valid pharmacy license/registration.
- Volunteers: Government-issued identification and, where
applicable, affiliation with a verified NGO or response team.
- Government / District Administration: Official government
identification and role confirmation.
Exact document requirements may be refined over time as the platform evolves; the principle — real, checkable credentials before dashboard access — remains constant.
What the "Verified" Badge Means
When a victim sees a responder marked as verified on ArogyaRelief, it means that responder's submitted credentials were reviewed and approved by an administrator. It is not a guarantee of quality of care or service, but it does mean the responder's claimed identity and qualifications were checked before they were granted platform access.
Re-verification and Revocation
Verified status may be reviewed or revoked if:
- Credentials are found to be false or expired
- A responder is found misusing the platform or violating the Terms of
Service or Community Guidelines
- A formal complaint is substantiated through review
