Accessibility Statement

Last updated: August 2026

During a disaster, access to information and help should not be hindered by physical, cognitive, or technological barriers. ArogyaRelief is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities and those operating under severe constraints.

We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards where possible.

Our Focus Areas

  • High-Contrast Design: Our design system is built with high-contrast colors to ensure legibility outdoors, in glaring sunlight, or for users with visual impairments. We also offer a dedicated Dark Mode.
  • Mobile First & Touch Targets: All interactive elements meet a minimum 44px touch target to accommodate users who may be operating devices with one hand, wearing gloves, or under physical stress.
  • Keyboard Navigation: We are actively working to ensure the platform is navigable via keyboard for users relying on assistive technologies.
  • Multilingual Interface: Language is an accessibility issue. We support multiple regional languages (English, Assamese, Hindi, Bengali) to ensure the platform is usable by local communities without translation barriers.
  • Low-Bandwidth Optimization: We recognize that disaster areas often have poor connectivity. We prioritize lightweight code and minimal image loading to ensure the platform functions on slow connections.

Ongoing Improvements

While we strive to adhere to accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility (such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1), it is an ongoing process. We do not currently hold formal compliance certifications, but we treat accessibility as a core design requirement, not an afterthought.
